Odette Vélez

Teacher at TAE Peru institute. PhD candidate in expressive arts therapy at the European Graduate School (Switzerland). Educational psychologist graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). She obtained a diploma of advanced studies from the Doctorate Program of Education and Democracy of the Universidad de Barcelona. She has taught at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas and Universidad el Pacífico. Practitioner in Bach flowers from the Bach Center (England). Member of the Peruvian Association of Expressive Arts. She accompanies learning, creation and healing processes through the expressive arts.

She is poet and writer. Author of poetry books: “Árbol sin nombre”, “Urdimbre” y “Éxodo vital”; editor and co-author of the books: “Dolor y belleza. Imágenes desde las artes expresivas en el Perú”,  “El poder de educar: una mirada al vínculo pedagógico”, “La educación desde el psicoanálisis”, “Ética y ciudadanía. Los límites de la convivencia”, “La exigente incomodidad: ética y profesiones”, among others books. She has participated in some theater and dance creations. She has been practicing contemporary dance for twenty-six years. Her current topics of interest are: the practice of poetry and ancestral rituals as sources of community health.
