Allucquére Rosanne (Sandy) Stone is Associate Professor in the College of Communication and Department of Radio-Television-Film and director of the Advanced Communication Technologies Laboratory (ACTLab) at the University of Texas.
She is the author of The War of Desire and Technology at the Close of the Mechanical Age and numerous other publications. She is a senior artist at the Banff Centre for the Arts and Humanities Research Institute Fellow at the University of California, Irvine.
Allucquére Rosanne (Sandy) Stone pursued successful multiple careers in film, music, experimental neurology, writing, engineering, and computer programming.
She is transgendered and is generally considered the founder of the academic discipline of Transgender Studies.
